The idea for the Cookie Factory was born in 2016 our Employment Transition Center in Groton. Participants in the Culinary Arts program developed skills to prepare them for jobs in a variety of food and restaurant businesses. This program evolved into a successful micro-enterprise that now operates out of our commercial bakery and storefront in Woodstock, CT. We currently focus on making the delicious Classic Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie, available in many stores region-wide, at the Cookie Factory in Woodstock, and online.

 

Our participant bakers are involved in all aspects of production, including baking, equipment maintenance, inventory, customer service, and delivery.

 

The Cookie Factory can create custom orders for corporate events, display tables, special occasions, and weddings—from individually wrapped and branded to an entire mountain on a tray.

 

Our Woodstock bakery was made possible thanks to the support of the Dominion Foundation, the Harvard Business School/Greenwich Porsche, the Chelsea Groton Foundation, The US Department of Agriculture, the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, and donations from many generous friends and family members.
